Branden called me today from the trail.  They needed a phone number.
Cell service was terrible so I barely understood him.  A little later he
called back and I got to talk to both of them.  I even talked to another
guy that was walking with them.  I forget his name.  He said he is older
than Michael so he is trying to take care of him and the "younger" ones.
This guy told me he knows all about me from walking with Michael.  He
also said, "This man is really in love with you."  That made me feel
good.
They are doing well.  I could tell they were really working hard at
hiking.  Michael sent me a letter last week to tell me the weeks of
hiking I plan to do are going to be much tougher than I can imagine.
OMG

Bath County, Kentucky resident, Michael Campbell, is hiking the entire Appalachian Trail to raise funds for the not-for-profit group dedicated to protecting Kentucky’s native forests, Kentucky Heartwood. Michael, a long-time member of Kentucky Heartwood, began his hike on March 22 at Springer Mountain, Georgia. By the first of September, after covering 2,181 miles of trail by foot, Michael will reach Katadhin Mountain in Maine and complete the entire trail.
